Municipal Planning and Development Office

MISSION

To facilitate effective implementation of integrated programs of Developmental Planning Activity for various offices of the municipality in the achievement of ultimate goal toward quality service.

VISION

Provide client with prompt and quality service standard and in carrying out the task mandated to the Municipal Planning and Development Office by the Local Government Code.

FUNCTIONS OF THE OFFICE

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COORDINATION FUNCTION

The office shall function as the backbone of the Local Government Unit (LGU) as mandated by law. Hence, the department is committed to perform the following:

        • Coordination and Consolidation of the Multi-Sectoral plans, programs and policies of the different Offices of the Municipality;

        • Formulation and Recommendation of Fiscal Plans and Policies;

        • Formulation of various development plans, programs, and activities for the consideration of the Local Chief Executive.

        • Delegate and resource speaker during local legislative hearings, meetings, public consultations, conventions, and any other legislative events.

        • Official Representative of the Local Chief Executive to assemblies, meetings, conventions, expositions, etc. pertaining to municipal/city and environmental planning.

PUBLIC CEMETERY ADMINISTRATION FUNCTION

        • Direct supervision over the affairs of the Public Cemetery Administration under the authority of the Local Chief Executive.

        • Administrative body of the Mariveles Public Cemetery in assisting clients with their concerns.

        • Inspection, maintenance and overall supervision of the Mariveles Public Cemetery in Sitio Mabuhay, Brgy. Cabcaben.

        • Planning, organizing, supervision and coordination of activities held at the Mariveles Public Cemetery, including during the annual commemoration of the Undas, and other events.

ZONING ADMINISTRATION FUNCTION

        • Issuance of Locational Clearance for zoning/locational permit in compliance with the clearance processing.

        • Site inspection of:

              • Business establishments pertaining to new or renewal of business permits

              • Lots and other areas pertaining to zoning/locational clearances.

              • Areas for any other specific requirement by the client or other agencies.

        • Documentation and bookkeeping of documents pertaining to business and zoning affairs.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

        • To provide Secretariat Services for official municipal events.

        • To determine the specific requirements of the client, and provide documentary needs as requested by the client.

        • Site inspection of projects in coordination with any of the following:

              • The Municipal Engineer

              • The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).

              • The Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO).

              • The Municipal Tourism Office (MTO)

              • Other municipal/provincial/national agencies

              • Other private and third-party entities

        • To provides assistance to academic, economic or similar type of researches.
