MARIVELES, Bataan-To further improve the security measures and maintain an atmosphere of peace in this industrial town, a top police official here revealed the other day that 10 high powered guns will add to the firepower of the police force here. This was learned from Lt. Col. Ronald Almirol, newly-designated chief of police here, who said that Camp Crame has approved the delivery of 10 Israel-made Galil to be used by the Mariveles PNP. The 10 Galil guns were initiated by Col Almirol himself through Major General Jose Ma. Victor Ramos, director for Comptrollership in Camp Crame. Col. Almirol thanked Gen Ramos for his support to the Mariveles PNP, saying this will further boost the police’s strenght in this premier town. Mariveles is the site of the Freeport Area of Bataan where more than 140,000 workers are directly employed. It is also here where the 1,800 megawatt GN power plant is located. Detailed only few days ago, Col Almirol said he will implement the directives of Gen . Rhodel Sermonia, Regional police director, and will fully support Mayor Jocelyn Castańeda’s drive for a peaceful Mariveles.
